Ar. Daniel Koh Chung Hou

Principle / Director

Ar Daniel Koh is a strong believer of relevance to local site and context. He graduated from University of Tasmania with First Class Honor and All Round Best Graduate for year 2000 . His firm had won awards under PAM Malaysia, PAM Sabah Chapter and Fiabci Malaysian Chapter. He loves outdoor sports especially scuba diving and snowboarding which immersed his mind into nature to seek for creative inspiring ideas.

He is the Principal of Arkitek Daniel Koh (ADK) and founding director of Arkitek KOPA Sdn. Bhd. and currently holds the position of Deputy Chairman of PAM Sabah Chapter. He had been frequently giving talks to local institutions and leading tours to his firm’s completed buildings, hoping to nurture & inspire local talents to venture into local architecture field.

Ar. Jack Chin

Architect

Ar. Jack Chin holds a Master's degree in Advanced Architectural Studies from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, graduating in 2007. After gaining two years of experience with Halliday Fraser Munro in Aberdeen, he returned to Malaysia in 2009 to begin his architectural practice. Since joining Arkitek KOPA Sdn. Bhd. in 2013, he has been instrumental in various developments and was appointed Director in 2017.

Jack's design philosophy emphasizes a comprehensive approach that integrates site-specific considerations, cultural relevance, and user experience. He advocates for sustainable architecture that incorporates biophilic design principles, blending modern aesthetics with passive design techniques. Jack's work aims to create visually appealing spaces that resonate with Malaysia's cultural heritage while promoting sustainability and harmony in the built environment.

Ar. Gary Lo Sau Kee

Architect

Ar. Lo Sau Kee @ Gary is a passionate architect with 15 years of experience in the industry. Graduating with a Master of Architecture from Curtin University, Australia in 2008.

Gary joined Arkitek Daniel Koh / Arkitek KOPA Sdn. Bhd. since 2011 as a graduate architect and became director of Arkitek KOPA Sdn. Bhd. in 2023. His passion, dedication and thirst for learning personality been instrumental in delivering several prestigious projects locally including Residential, Commercial, Hotel and Mixed Development Projects .

Apart from his architectural interest, Gary is also an sport enthusiast who enjoys jogging, badminton, and swimming, reflecting his active lifestyle and holistic approach to personal well-being.

Ar. David Vun

Architect

Ar. David Vun started his professional journey by graduating from the esteemed University of Queensland in Brisbane in 2013 before swiftly returning to Kota Kinabalu. His career at Arkitek Daniel Koh started as a graduate architect, then as a salaried architect, culminating in his promotion to director at Arkitek KOPA Sdn Bhd in 2023.

Since joining ADK in 2018, David has immersed himself in various housing development projects and bespoke house designs, showcasing his expertise and creative flair. Currently, he is deeply involved in a diverse array of projects, including designing and developing a hotel, warehouse, and a community hall in Inanam Town. Each project presents a unique set of challenges and opportunities for him to learn, overcome, and excel.

Ar. Jonathan H. Majaham

Architect

Ar. Jonathan H. Majaham Innocent is a fresh face in the architecture industry. Having graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2015, he gave up his Australian PR to start anew in his hometown of Kota Kinabalu. The middle child to both architect parents, he was tossed into this life without much choice.

He is an avid traveller who thrives on the vibrant energy of bustling metropolises. It is in these urban jungles where creative minds from all around the world gather to transform an oasis in an otherwise monotonous mundane city-life.

After almost a decade under the guidance in Arkitek Daniel Koh, he was appointed a director for Arkitek KOPA Sdn. Bhd. where he approaches each project with the goal to bring its own distinctive character in creating that oasis to the local community.

Ar. Kristen Z.M. Rayner

Architect

Ar. Kristen Z.M. Rayner, an enthusiastic architect with a Master of Architecture degree from University Malaya, embarked on her career in Kuala Lumpur, where she gained valuable experience across various projects, including mixed commercial developments and residential high rises. Since joining Arkitek Daniel Koh in 2016, Ar. Kristen has continued to excel, focusing on creating impactful spaces through a combination of commercial and high-rise projects.

Ar. Kristen values architecture's ability to enhance public spaces and improve community environments, emphasizing thoughtful design to shape sustainable and vibrant urban landscapes in other diverse projects.

Outside of architecture, Ar. Kristen finds fulfillment in extreme sports and outdoor activities like camping, hiking, and diving. These pursuits not only energize her but also influence her design approach.

Additionally, Ar. Kristen serves as an enthusiastic external critic for a local architecture school, actively contributing to the exchange of design ideas and mentoring aspiring students in the field.

Desmond Ling

Architect

Desmond, a graduate architect with 5 years of architectural training, achieved his Master of Architecture from Curtin University in Australia in 2014. Following his graduation, he pursued his career internationally, accumulating 5 years of working experience in Singapore, China and South Korea, specializing in residential and commercial developments .

In 2020, Desmond became a part of Arkitek Daniel Koh, where he is currently engaged in mixed-use developments and residential projects. Being an admirer of the renowned architect Herzog de Meuron, Desmond emphasizes that the form of architecture should be primarily influenced by the specific function of the building.

Beyond his passion for architecture, he indulges in activities like eating, cooking, diving, swimming and traveling.

Michelle Thien

Architect

Michelle graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tasmania, Australia in 2005 and is dedicated to ongoing development in architectural practice. With a commitment to high personal standards, she consistently strives to excel in all assigned roles.

Michelle joined Arkitek Daniel Koh / Arkitek KOPA Sdn. Bhd. in 2014. Her portfolio includes a diverse range of projects such as Car Showrooms and Service Centres, Warehouses, Shoplots, a specialist Dental Centre and Mixed Commercial high-rise Service Suites.

Apart of her architectural practice, Michelle enjoys traveling and has a passion for exploring the world's beautiful Landscapes, Buildings and Cuisines.
